Yuck.

So the past two weeks have amounted in literally nothing. Lets start from the beginning. Last Tuesday, right before agility class, while trying to wear down my dog so she wasn't so insane during class I got stung by a wasp. No big deal, my toe was fine, the lesson went great and Myah started some work on a dog walk while we worked on some basic jump/table sequences and my handling, which needs a lot of work. I woke up wednesday to my toe all swollen and leaving me incapable of walking or running even short distances. So till friday I was icing and elevating it so when I went camping over the weekend I could at least move. It worked out fine, my lesson learned was to wear sneakers.

So what happens yesterday when I decide to finally start working my butt into shape again. I woke up at 7:30 and did a half mile before bee somehow got stuck between the tongue of my shoe and my ankle and repeatedly stung me before I killed it. I just don't win. So with my whole foot swollen (apparently I have more reaction to bee stings than wasp ones) we went to class today where I screwed just about everything up. My poor dog, she is so willing and ready, heck she did a aframe for the first time today like a pro, ran over it despite me trying to keep it slow. She did a small dogwalk for the first time after doing only two sessions of elevated ramps, again wonderfully. I couldn't do a front cross for the life of me, couldn't run, was all hopped up on the max dosage on benadryl I could take and was just so horribly frustrated. I need to do a lot of work, hopefully I can walk on thursday and friday to do this, knowing my luck however something will happen to keep me off my feet.

No new pictures, I've been moping around too preoccupied to take any. Hopefully we will have some videos up later this week.

Tired to Playtime.

What does Myah look like after agility class?
Shes not even supposed to be on the couch.
Couldn't even keep her eyes open.
Couch wasn't comfy enough so she ended up passed out on the floor.
This should be proof enough of how insane she was at the class, it was only an hour long.

Today she was all perky again though and she got to play with the neighbors pug, Milly.

What a herding dog, as soon as Milly runs at her she does this:
Milly is confused. Why is she laying down?
Then she attacks.
Milly knows how to get Myah though.
Clearly ferocious.
I don't think Myah understands that Milly really is a dog.
It's okay though, they're bff's.

Our First Class!

So we had our first agility class today, it went pretty much as I knew it would. Myah was a freak. She loves other dogs, and even though there was only 4 there, and quite spaced out from her, she still provided to jump and do her whine scream, and be chaotic. The trainer kept encouraging me that it was okay because she was an Aussie and she's only 11 months, I was slightly mortified at the start. You'd think my dog was half alien by the way she acts sometimes, but by the end she was calmer. Our biggest accomplishment of the night is we did do all the obstacles placed in front of us, and all the sequences. Once we actually started doing agility she calmed down considerably and although her focus was off I'm proud of her. In fact I had to keep her on leash but the jump sequences she kept zooming ahead, like I taught her, and I kept missing commands. I can also say that I by watching Myah already has a lot of speed, more than I thought, the other dogs seemed more focused and reserved. I rather like having a psycho speedy dog, I think. Next week its a lot smaller class, just me and another guy, so we get to do some sequences with a tab, I think this will be much more Myah's style, as long as she is kept busy and doesn't have to see other dogs running around and having fun without her she is okay. Overall I'd happily say we have a lot to improve on but at least she did do the obstacles, my biggest fear was she would totally space out because other animals where in the room, but she did okay. I think I am happier with knowing where to improve than have her be too good and not knowing what to do.

No new pictures, but here's one from last week:

Wildlife, Wildlife, Everywhere!

Everything has been full of life on the pond. I found a turtle, the geese have babies and recently someone brought some white ducks (babies included) and left them. The babies are already down one, from nine to eight, which is why tame ducks have never survived on the pond anyways, I hope the others pull through but the odds seem to be against them. Myah likes the wildlife though.
She helped in the turtle release. Well as helpful as she could be. That poor turtle has probably never swam so fast in its life. It didn't understand the 50lb furbag only wanted to play, but then again neither does anything that sees Myah, which is always why my pictures are from waaaay afar.

Turns out that isn't so inviting looking. Who knew.

Dirty Dog!

So I don't know what it is about Myah and mud but ever since we have brought her home her habits include running up and down the ditch in our back yard. It was cute when she was like this:

Even as she grew a little older it was humorous:

However at 10 months i'm starting to question some things about my dog.

Look at that face, she is so proud.
I keep praying she will grow out of it.
Something tells me its not a maturity thing though.

Round Two!

I have always noticed, thanks to an obsessive drive to check every dog blog I find on the internet, that border collies, and well in general dogs with tails, own. They populate the dog blogging world. Now don't get me wrong, I love those dogs, the ones with tails, but I feel that there just isn't enough tailess dog love going around. Que Myah. In my house we like dogs without tails, the fluff butts, wiggle butts, etc, etc. So we decided in effort to make those envious around us to prove our point of not enough no tail loving and recreate a blog about Myah. Yes round one failed, but hey, I'm persistent. So is Myah for that matter. Give it to a stubborn owner with a stubborn Aussie to never claim failure. I don't take losing well. On that note Myah is 10 months! Almost Eleven, June 30th folks, mark those calenders! Has she grown up a lot! We have a attention span now, and we even have progressed to listening to the owner for more than 30 seconds, progress. So agility is looking up, in fact I need to shoot a few emails out and meet with up with a trainer because I feel not only is Myah ready but I am as well to start some serious training. Anyway back on track its Tailess, a blog about a dog without a Tail!
